Teem

Decide what moves, in what order, and what it returns

A planning engagement that establishes the business case before the first workload moves. You finish with a sequenced plan, a view of the return, and a clear statement of what stays where it is.

Teem Day 1

Cloud adoption planning establishes what moving to the cloud will cost, return and require before any workload moves. Teem Day 1 uses the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework to assess business drivers, the existing IT landscape and each application, producing a sequenced plan and an expected return on investment.

You are being asked to commit budget to a cloud programme and need a defensible plan before you do.

Most cloud programmes that disappoint were decided before they were understood. Teem Day 1 is a short structured engagement, delivered by consultants trained in the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework, that examines why the organisation is moving, what it runs today, and which applications justify the effort. The output includes the recommendation not to move something, where that is the right answer.

The problems we hear

  • A cloud mandate exists but the business case has not been established
  • Nobody has a current, agreed inventory of the application estate
  • Previous migration estimates have proven unreliable
  • The board is asking for a return figure the technology team cannot yet evidence

What good looks like

  • A business case with assumptions stated and testable
  • An application-by-application recommendation, including what stays
  • A sequence that front-loads learning and limits exposure
  • A plan your own team helped build and can defend

First 30 days

A cloud adoption workshop with your stakeholders, an assessment of business drivers and the existing IT landscape, and an outline strategy for each application in scope.

How we deliver

01

Cloud Adoption Workshop

A facilitated session with the people who own the outcome, establishing why the organisation is moving and what success would look like in business terms.

  • Business drivers captured and prioritised
  • Constraints, deadlines and non-negotiables surfaced early
  • Shared understanding across technology and the business
02

IT Landscape Assessment

An assessment of what you actually run today—infrastructure, connectivity, applications, dependencies and the people who maintain them.

  • Application inventory with dependencies mapped
  • Connectivity options including VPN and Direct Connect
  • Staffing and skills gaps identified honestly
03

Application Strategy

A recommendation for each application—rehost, refactor, replace, retire or retain—with the reasoning behind it.

  • Per-application recommendation with rationale
  • Sequencing that limits exposure and builds capability
  • Explicit list of what stays where it is, and why
04

Business Case and Return

A modelled return with the assumptions stated, so finance and technology are working from the same figures.

  • Cost model with assumptions open to challenge
  • Return expressed in terms the board already uses
  • Reporting cadence agreed for the transition, typically quarterly

Common questions

What is the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework?
The AWS Cloud Adoption Framework organises cloud readiness across six perspectives—business, people, governance, platform, security and operations. It is used to identify gaps in capability and ownership before a migration rather than during one. Our consultants are trained in it and use it as one input among several.
Can you tell us the return on investment before we start?
We can give you a modelled return with the assumptions written down and open to challenge. Anyone offering a precise figure before assessing your estate is guessing. The value of the planning engagement is that the assumptions become explicit and testable.
What if the answer is that we should not migrate?
Then that is what the report says, for the applications where it applies. Recommending against a move where the economics do not support it is part of the engagement, not a failure of it.
